A HUGE thanks to My Book Addiction and More for featuring Sex, Spies and Photographs – A Wicked Way Interactive on their site. Click here to check out the full interview and Q&A about Wicked Way Interactives. Here’s a preview of the Q&A…

Interviewer:

In a time when other authors are tending toward serializing their books and making the reader pay for a story chapter by chapter, Daire St. Denis is doing the opposite. She’s creating more than one story possibility in each book. In addition, she’s actively engaging the reader and having them participate in the story’s outcome. I’m thrilled to interview her about her exciting upcoming series Wicked Way Interactive books.

Q: What was your inspiration for writing Wicked Way Interactive books?

DSD: When I was a kid, I was a big fan of the “Choose Your Own Adventure” books. I always wanted to try my hand at writing something like that, but for an adult audience. My wish became reality when I was writing the black moment in my story Sex, Spies and Photographs. My heroine couldn’t decide what to do and I couldn’t seem to decide for her. So I wrote two alternate endings and loved them both. Voila! An interactive book was born.

Q: So there is one decision point in this book. Is that the same for all your interactive books?

DSD: No. My next book has three decision points. The third in the series has six.

Q: It sounds like a lot of work. Do you enjoy writing in this format?

DSD: I love it! Obviously, the more decisions, the more complex it becomes, but that’s okay, it’s like a puzzle and I love puzzles. The other reason I love it is because it gives readers an opportunity to find out ‘what would have happened if…?’ In real life, we’re all faced with critical decisions that change the outcome of our lives. We don’t have the luxury of finding out what would have happened if we’d made a different decision in life, but through these books I’m hoping to give readers a taste of what that might be like.
